So being a designers/rich/college student is a bad. You hate people who are creative, you hate money, and you hate learning things. Only? mindless office drones matter. Oh, and your bias isn’t showing.

You also don’t like to follow the herd but every argument you make has been that the herd has chosen Microsoft therefore it is correct but now you want to be a maverick by putting on a beige suit and lock stepping to the norm. You’re very confused my friend. Very confused.

Apple puts thier users first which are designers/rich/college students . Windows puts what their users use it for..WORK..general things like office work.

My bias isn’t showing i just hate how people? like to follow the herd and bash the new windows like it’s windows ME .Windows has stepped up their game. I have no desire to follow the windows cult or apple or linux…i say it how it is…they all have their crap and good stuff . They have different types of users.

Actually I Cracked It.? I’ll Put It As A Response.

  20. Kludge420 says:

Microsoft on the other hand is internally fragmented and has no mandate to make user experience a priority. They only care about obtuse goals like market share and gross units exported. They have never, ever cared about the user (or programmer) experience.

All you have to do is read? their own specifications and then look at their code. Their own code doesn’t follow their own standards and their documentation is written by summer interns who have never even heard of good design principles.

  21. Kludge420 says:

Your bias is showing. Apple puts the user first; everything a computer does is specifically for the user.

They may be wrong in their design decisions sometimes, e.g. they have yet to make a good two button mouse, but they have learned one very important lesson: be brave enough to design good things? and have a common design goal.

    photoshop isnt? free i believe

  23. NickTheGoon9 says:

    Where’s? PhotoShop?…

  24. Kludge420 says:

But you’re wrong when you say beauty, and hence good design, is *purely* subjective. There are things that “look better” to humans like odd numbers of things vs. even numbers of things. But I would agree there is a lot of art involved in good design and something someone things is beautiful others might find repulsive.

Good design isn’t about rigidly following a book of rules though is it? It’s understanding things we’ve found to be agreeable over time and then? knowing how to break those rules.

  25. Kludge420 says:

I think that’s a really interesting argument and would even agree with you for the most part. For instance when the non-representative abstract movement started it was panned by art critics as not being “real art.”

I’m assuming your photo-realism vs. anime? isn’t meant as a straw man but is meant as an example since I never said that nor would I.
